We all love our bikes. Lots and lots! There are few worse feelings than coming back to find a broken lock and your bike missing. Unfortunately, hundreds of thousands of bicycles get nicked by bike thieves every year.
One of the best ways to stop this is to lock your bike properly and leave it in the right place. So following on from the success / absurdity of our World Record Bike Daisy Chain we thought we’d see what’s the safest you could make a bike! And to do that we need your ideas on how to lock it, where to put it and what to do to it so that it couldn’t possibly get stolen!
To enter this competition starting today submit an image in our Bike Love section of the safest you can make your bike. See our “How to Enter” video for some of the ideas we’ve come up with so far!
A shortlist of the top 5 images will be decided by public vote before our panel of cycling experts will decide a winner. Main prize is to keep both you and your bike safe on the road with full high vis kit from PROVIZ – jacket, helmet and rucksack cover. All runners up receive a PROVIZ helmet.
Or if you have some really crazy idea and don’t know how to take a photo of it you can describe it on our Facebook page where our favourite 5 entries will win Cycleguard bike insurance. We’ll also be having some weekly Twitter competitions.
Deadline for submissions is November 25 with voting ending November 30. The winner chosen by the judges will be announced December 2.
Join in and help your fellow cyclist by showing them how to lock up their bike better! For an expert view on how to lock up your bike safely check out Barry Mason’s Guide.
