Christmas gifts for cyclists: under £20 stocking fillers
Helmet law process starts in Northern Ireland
A gift that will keep a cyclist’s kit secure or the keep the rider safe is a gift with longevity. Below are our 5 top gifts for cyclists with a security theme.
1 - Locks, from £18 on Going Going Bike
Your choice of lock is individual and personal. If you follow the mantra of two good locks (link) then you are giving yourself a good chance of beating the thieves.
Going Going Bike have a selection of high level locks for sale at great prices. The Kryptonite Series 2 Silver Sold Secure is under £20.
For something more muscley there are some great Gold standard locks available.
2 - Knog Skink 4 Led Rear Light - Black, £10 from Amazon
Good lights are vital for safer cycling in the dark.
I’ve just got the Knog Skink rear lamps and am dead chuffed with them. Very bright, several different flashing options and super handy strap for attaching and quickly removing from your bike.
I have managed to fasten to both my seat post and to my outside seatstay, which has made me happy.
3 - Bike Vault, £500 on Going Going Bike
Not everyone has access to a garage or other suitable place to store their bikes. A stand alone bike shed offers a great solution.
We like the Bike Vault shed because it is manufactured from recyclable low density polyethylene and is super secure.
4 - Cycle Registration, free with Bike Revolution and Bike Register
Cycle registration is free with both Bike Revolution and Bike Register but the generosity behind the gift comes from the time and effort (admittedly not very long or difficult) you put into registering the bike.
You can also give Pulse ID tags and/or Selectamark tags if you are feeling super-generous!
5 - Reflective Sash, £19 on Going Going Bike
A reflective sash is old-skool but effective.
It is also extremely practical as it can be worn over thick clothes in the winter as easily as a t-shirt in the summer.
