5 Christmas gifts for cyclists: design led

ShareThis

Below are five ideas for design led gifts for cyclists. They are a little bit individual and quirky and I know I would be delighted to receive them. Other than the ladies jacket which I have given as a gift!

1 - Velo: Bicycle Culture and Design £21 at Amazon

This book is on my Christmas list this year.

Published in April this year, Velo: Culture and Design will not only bring a touch of sophistication to my non-existent coffee table but looks a cracking read.

In addition, any book that claims to introduce a wild bunch of passionate cyclists” sounds good to me.

2 - Cycling Photograph from Bicycle Images, from £50.

I love cycling photography and have given prints from the Tour de France to friends as gifts.

They seemed to like them too and I know I would be delighted to receive the same.

Bicycle Images cover more than just pro-racing and offer a range of fabulous images which you can download and have printed as a unique gift to a cyclist.

3- Cyclodelic Edwardian Waterproof Jacket, £250 on Going Going Bike

Cyclodelic design and test all their own products in East London.

Products are thoughtfully designed and finished to a standard that you would expect from a perfectionist.

The Edwardian Waterproof jacket must be the most stylish and special ladies cycling jacket available. In addition, it is a seriously warm piece of kit which will make any cyclist grateful during the cold rides we are all having this winter.

4 - Fjallraven vintage laptop bag, £61.99 at Cycle Chic

My bag that carries my locks, files and general bits n’pieces is in need of replacing and I’ve decided the Fjallraven is the answer.

It looks equally good on and off the bike and has nice retro touches, such as the leather straps. Large enough for my lap top, two locks (of course) and my files.

5 - The Bicycle Thieves [DVD] [1948], £10 from Amazon

This film is a classic. Check out its ranking on Rotten Tomatoes if you doubt me.

I haven’t seen it but have heard much about it. Very high up on my Christmas list and would be welcome viewing on Boxing Day.
