After the inaugural sprint auction last week which caused a bit of a furore, we returned this week with a new lot: Velo-re’s handmade belt fashioned from a recycled bike tyre. After a slow start this week (perhaps due to tactical bidding!) things really hotted up. So much so that there was a fourway battle going into the final 30 seconds and 3 bids in the final 10.
This triggered a 10 minute sudden death extra time that we, at GGB HQ, thought was going to bring more frenetic bidding. Alas, it wasn’t to be and Ortonangel won the auction with her last minute bid of £16.50 (RRP £30). She was delighted, not only with the bargain that she had picked up but also the introduction to an awesome company. Not to mention the fact that she is also the second winner of our fabled Green Jersey.
We will be unveiling a few more cool companies in the coming weeks but if you know of any others, we are always on the look out for great new partners and are happy to talk to anyone.
It only remains for me to wish everyone a great weekend and give you a heads up that there will be another sprint auction next week, same time, same place, could the bargain be yours next time?
