The Belgian city of Liège has been confirmed as Grand Départ for the 2012 Tour de France.
ASO, the organisers of the Tour de France, have also confirmed that the race will stay another two days in Belgium before entering France on Stage 3.
Liège will host the customary prologue short time trial and it will be the city’s second time in hosting the Grand Départ.
The 2012 Tour de France will start a week earlier than usual to take account of the start of the London Olympics, which begin in late July.
