Man uses bike to fend off Leopard

We’re not one to condone animal cruelty here on Going Going Bike, but when a leopard is about to bite your head off maybe using your bicycle to fend off said animal is ok.
Not that you will see leopards on your daily commute or leisure ride of course. However these said events did happen to South African citizen Pieta Ncube on his way to work just outside the town of Brits in the North West of South Africa.
Pieta said the leopard attacked after he momentarily slowed his cycling on his mountain bike to see when he noticed something behind him.

At this point, the leopard attacked. However, using his bike, Pieta managed to trap the animal’s two front legs in the triangle of his bicycle’s frame so that it could not move freely or reach him with its teeth.
“The leopard’s head stuck out just above the saddle,” said Ncube.
Pieta than used a steel bar that was attached to the bicycle to hit the leopard. The animal eventually ran off after being hit with the bar several times.
Pieta suffered lacerations to his head and forehead in the attack.
Is this some sort of publicity stunt for the new Team Leopard? ;o)
