Evans to open demo show to public

Cycle retailer Evans Cycles has announced its first consumer cycle show after opening its annual staff event to the public for the first time.
Under the RideIt! Cycle Show banner, the event will take place at the Redbridge Cycling Centre in Hainault (which is just outside London) on the 19th and 20th March 2011.
The show claims to be playing host to the “country’s biggest demo weekend”. Those willing to pay £5 (to look at bikes that can be viewed for free at any store or online) will have accesss to a wide range of manufacturers.
Alongside the bikes on show, there will be a sportive ride over 30, 60 or 90 miles and a 10 mile family fun ride on the Sunday.
Bike Demos and sportives at a cycle show brings back memories of the format unsuccessfuly attempted at the Bike Radar Live cycle shows. These ran for a couple of years before being scrapped due to the high cost of organising these types of events. However, the commercial rationale appears more logical for Evans. They will be able to scoop cash from bike sales in addition to the other revenue streams available to show organisers.
Advanced online entry to the Sportive & Show costs £15, while entry to the show only costs £5. Children under 16 years old can go in free of charge when accompanied by an adult.
Of course if you do go and try a bike that weekend, you might want to check on Going Going Bike to see if you can get a better price here. In addition, you know where to can sell your old bike. You’ve got it, right here on Going Going Bike!
