Early Christmas cheer with Santa Chopper ride

On December 2, five men will be hopping on their bikes to take part in a three-day charity ride from Liverpool to Grimsby. Nothing unusual here, except that these blokes will be doing the rides on Raleigh Chopper bikes and all will be dressed up as Father Christmas.
The team of Santas will cycle the 155 miles from Liverpool to Grimsby on the Choppers to raise money for Cyclists Fighting Cancer.
Cyclists Fighting Cancer donates bikes, specially adapted trikes and tandems to children and young people affected by cancer to encourage them to get active again.
Along the way, the Santas will be visiting a number of children’s hospitals on their route, including Alder Hey Hospital in Liverpool, Manchester Children’s Hospital and Sheffield Children’s Hospital.
Riders
The ride is being led by Mike Grisenthwaite, the founder of Cyclists Fighting Cancer. Mike will be joined on the ride by Emerson Osmond, manager at UCAS, and Paul Barrett, a creative lead at BSkyB, Phil Bullas, a trustee of CFC and Dave Granger, who is a cabinet member and CFC trustee.
Handing out gifts
The ride begins on December 2 from the Pier Head in Liverpool with the aim of doing the 155 mile journey in three days. The Santas hope to raise upwards of £10,000 on the journey itself and will also greatly accept gifts (for kids up to 14) to leave at the hospitals they visit along the route.
If you’d like to donate money then please go here. If you want to donate gifts, then please contact Cyclists Fighting Cancer via mike@cyclistsfc.org.uk.
