Cycle shop burglar caught with his pants down

An amusing story from Hull where a cycle shop burglar in the city got caught in the act by the manager of the store and lost his jeans as he tried to escape the scene.
The bungling burglar was found in the workshop area of the Cliff Pratt Cycles shop by the manager at 8.20am on Monday morning. On seeing the manager he tried to escape through a hole he had made in the ceiling of the shop. He had used the hole in the ceiling to enter the cycle shop in the first place.
Jeans fall off
Unfortunately, while attempting this escape his jeans got snagged on an edge and eventually the jeans came off his body in his panic to get away.
The manager, who had the foresight to contact Humberside Police before approaching the burglar, was involved a brief struggle with the man which may have aided the jeans being slightly looser on the man’s waist.
Boxer shorts
The burglar did get away through the hole but only to the roof of the shop where he was stuck with no escape route out. He was of course stuck there in just his boxer shorts.
Despite this and a police presence, the man refused to come down initially but was eventually persuaded by the police to give up. With the help of a Hull Fire Service ladder, the bungling burglar came down after a 40 minute stand off and was promptly arrested by Humberside Police.
No cycles were taken in the incident.
