Like it or not, e-bikes are slowly but surely becoming a more mainstream product in the UK.

Chances are a large percentage of people who read the term ‘e-bikes’ in the opening sentence ran (or should that be cycled?) a proverbial mile, muttering something about cheating along the way. So kudos to those of you who are still with me.

Traditionally of course used by OAPs to teeter along to the Co-op, e-bikes are starting to enjoy something of an uplift in popularity. This is thanks in no small part to a rather surprising new target audience. Continue reading »

The ChampionTeam GGB have today been letting our inner bike geeks run riot around the Cycle Show at Birmingham’s NEC. A plethora of new products are on show, from the ridiculously desirable to a few which are simply ridiculous. Make sure you click on the thumbnails below to see full size images!

The exhibition is the biggest in its history and is a chance for visitors to feast their eyes on some brand new machines. However, today being “trade & press day”, it also represents one of the best opportunities for the cycle trade to network, discuss industry trends and look at each other surreptitiously to see who has the most “suspension travel”.

Ah it’s cycle to work day… and it’s not bad weather for September. (Actually I’m in the South of France this morning doing some undercover journalism on the illegal trafficking of Zipp wheels, but I digress…)

Watching the early developments of the Tour de Yorkshire last weekend was a wonderful opportunity to see the best road cyclists up close and personal in God’s own county. However, the sad withdrawal of both Cav and Froome Dog set me pondering on the nature of leaders and of teamwork in our favourite sport.
