Cars parked in a bicycle lane? No Tanks

One of the pet peeves of any cyclist are cars, vans or lorries parked in bicycle lanes. We can do little about it as cyclists other than complain to the local authorities after the event.
Well one Mayor appears to have taken the matter very seriously after complaints from his local citizens and cycling public about cars being parked in dedicated cycle lanes.
Tank
Arturas Zuokas, the Mayor of Vilnius in Lithuania, took to the streets of the capital in a tank and drove over a Mercedes-Benz S-Class luxury car that was parked in the lane.
Mr Zuokas of course did the stunt in the full glare of the local media and told local journalists that the council was being proactive about the problem of parked cars in cycle lanes.
“I’ve had enough of these drivers parking their luxury cars on bike lanes and pedestrian crossings. This tank is a good tool to solve the problem of parking in the wrong place.”
Boris to do the same?
What are the odds on Boris Johnson doing the same in London? Unlikely of course but Boris does love a good publicity stunt and it would get the message across to motorists not to park in cycle lanes.
